Features

Everything about your MPN in one place

To see how your lifestyle affects your symptoms, you have a lot to remember: how you slept, what you did, how you felt. Your journal keeps it together, so you don’t have to.

Symptoms & side effects

Fatigue, itching, night sweats, concentration: record in a minute a day how you feel, and see which days were harder β€” and why.

Medication

Keep track of which medicines you use and at what dose, and how they suit you, so you can discuss effects and side effects with your doctor with confidence.

Lab results

Add your blood counts after every check-up and see trends instead of loose numbers on a lab slip.

Lifestyle

A walk, a bad night, a stressful week: discover what helps you feel better β€” and what doesn’t.

Mental well-being

An MPN affects more than your body. That’s why we also ask about psychosocial symptoms every time you log. Over time, this shows you how you are really doing.

Reports for your doctor

One clear overview to bring to your haematologist β€” so those ten minutes in the consulting room are about you.

How it works

Start in three simple steps

1

Sign up anonymously

You register through a privacy layer that never shares your real identity with us. Your data is stored without a name, e-mail or date of birth attached β€” so it can never be linked back to you, even if our systems were ever breached.

2

Track at your own pace

One minute a day or five minutes a week: you decide what you track and how often. Skipping a day is perfectly fine.

3

Discover patterns and share

See your weeks side by side and spot what has changed. Easy-to-read charts reveal connections that help you reduce your symptoms. Then share a clear overview with your care team.

Everyday Better

The 30-Day MPN Challenge

Developed by patients for patients, the challenge helps you take charge of your lifestyle, reduce your symptom burden and feel a little better every day. For 30 days you receive short interactive exercises and insights every day: a brief explanation, a moment of reflection and two practical assignments β€” one short and one longer β€” so you can choose what fits your day.

  • Based on the scientific method of the international bestseller β€œThe Hamster in Your Brain”, written by two physicians
  • Available in 15 languages
  • Completely free β€” and you can take part anonymously
  • Missed a day? No problem, continue at your own pace

Our story

By patients, for patients

MPN Journal was created by John Hoogland, Dolf van den Berg and Remco van Haaren β€” all three living with an MPN themselves. Inspired by the daily challenges of life with a rare blood cancer, they built the tool they wished they had: simple, private and genuinely helpful.

β€œWe built MPN Journal because we know how much difference it makes when you arrive at your appointment with a clear story.”
